Company Description
Unipetrol covers the universe of petroleum businesses in the Czech Republic. The company is the country's major petrochemical concern, with controlling stakes in leading refineries and chemical plants. Unipetrol operates refineries as its primary business but also owns gas stations and produces petrochemicals, plastics, and agrochemicals. Among its subsidiaries are Benzina (the country's largest gas-station network), lubricants and refinery products maker Paramo (74% owned by Unipetrol), and refinery joint venture Česká Rafinérská, 51% owned by Unipetrol). Formerly controlled by the Czech government, Unipetrol now is majority-owned by Polish refinery giant
