Established more than three decades ago as RJB Mining, UK Coal is one of the largest producers of coal in Britain, supplying nearly 5% of the country's energy needs for electricity. It owns and operates three underground mines located in Central and Northern England and another six surface mines. The company controls more than 150 million tons of proved and probable reserves.
