UCare Minnesota is one of the largest health plan providers in Minnesota, with some 220,000 members scattered throughout the Land of 10,000 Lakes and in several counties in western Wisconsin. The not-for-profit specializes in health coverage for members of government-funded programs such as Medicare and Medicaid; it also has plans for participants in MinnesotaCare, a state-subsidized insurance program for residents unable to afford private health coverage. Some 75,000 seniors subscribe to UCare's Medicare products, which include a Medicare Advantage plan under the name UCare for Seniors.
