Company Description

ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems brings industrial muscle to shipbuilding, above and below the ocean. Part of ThyssenKrupp Technologies, owned by industrial giant ThyssenKrupp AG, ThyssenKrupp Marine undertakes a slate of shipyard functions. The company, via its subsidiaries, builds non-nuclear submarines, naval and special purpose vessels, as well as mega-yachts at shipyards in Germany and other countries. It also provides repair and conversion services. In late 2010 ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems sold a 75% interest in Greek dockyards Hellenic Shipyards (HSY) to Abu Dhabi MAR (ADM). The deal included the civil shipbuilding arm and civil operations of sister subsidiaries Blohm + Voss and Howaldstwerke-Deutsche Werft.
