The firm publishes Huffington Post, a site offering a liberal-leaning mix of high-brow and low-brow content covering politics, current events, and entertainment. Huffington Post has a staff of paid and unpaid contributors; it also uses the Associated Press wire service (a paying customer) and hosts celebrity bloggers such as actor Alec Baldwin and comedian Bill Maher. Huffington Post was launched in 2005 by media personality Arianna Huffington and former Time Warner exec Kenneth Lerer. In 2011 it was acquired by AOL. The new parent company used the site to form the AOL Huffington Post Media Group, which houses all of AOL's content.
