The Rockefeller Foundation, established in 1913, is one of the oldest private charitable organizations in the US. It supports grants, fellowships, and conferences for programs that concentrate on identifying and alleviating need and suffering worldwide. These programs (or themes) include initiatives to foster fair implementation of health care, job opportunities for America's urban poor, creative expression through the humanities and arts, and agricultural policies that ensure food distribution to people in developing countries.
