The company, a subsidiary of NACCO Industries that's also known as NACoal, operates surface mines in Louisiana, Mississippi, North Dakota, and Texas. It has more than 2 billion tons of proved and probable coal reserves and produces 30 million tons annually through subsidiaries like Coteau Properties , Falkirk Mining, and Red River Mining. Customers primarily are electric utilities, but it also provides coal to a synthetic fuel plant. The company also provides dragline mining services for limerock quarries in Florida.
