    The Nebraska Medical Center is a not-for-profit hospital organization serving the health care needs of Omaha residents. The tertiary care medical center consists of two campuses in close proximity, University Hospital and Clarkson Hospital, that collectively house 689 licensed beds. The medical center is the primary teaching facility of the University of Nebraska Medical Center. It also serves as a designated trauma facility for eastern Nebraska and western Iowa, and provides highly specialized care in a number of areas, including organ transplantation, cardiology, oncology, and neurology.
