The Hallwood Group spawns fabric for everyday life. The group is a holding company of Brookwood Companies, a producer of high-tech fabric for the outdoor and sportswear industries, and one of the largest suppliers of coated nylon fabric in the US. Brookwood dyes, finishes, coats, and prints woven synthetics, used in products such as consumer apparel, luggage, and sailcloth. A laminating arm processes fabrics for military uniforms and camouflage equipment, industrial applications, and waterproof gear. Roughly two-thirds of sales are made to makers of military goods, such as Tennier Industries and ORC Industries. Hallwood's former interest in Hallwood Energy ended in 2009 following the latter's reorganization.
