The Ensign Group hangs its insignia at dozens of senior living facilities. Most of its facilities are skilled nursing homes, but it also operates a number of assisted-living and independent-living facilities, as well as combination nursing, assisted, and independent-living centers. Some locations also offer rehabilitation, hospice, and physical therapy services. Ensign's facilities are either owned by the company or operated under lease agreements. The medical group operates some 100 long-term care centers (it owns three-fourths of them) with a capacity of some 11,500 beds in 10 states in the southwestern and western US. Ensign also operates home health and hospice agencies and has moved into urgent care.
