Company Description
The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art was founded in 1859 by inventor and industrialist Peter Cooper, who created the US's first steam train engine and rose from poverty to build a fortune. Cooper's endowment continues to fund a full tuition scholarship for each of the 900 students who attend the college, which is located in the East Village in downtown New York City. The Cooper Union offers degree programs in art, architecture, and engineering, as well as a wide variety of lectures and continuing education courses for the public.
