Company Description
A state-supported military college, The Citadel traces its roots back to the 1842 founding of the South Carolina Military Academy. Today's Citadel enrolls about 2,000 undergraduate cadets who reside on the campus barracks. Cadets are given military and academic instruction in addition to physical training and a strict disciplinary regime; about a third of all graduates continue on to military careers.The Citadel enrolls another 1,000 civilian graduate and undergraduate students, who attend evening classes. The institution has schools in business, education, engineering, the humanities and social sciences, and science and mathematics. Previously all-male, the school allowed its first female cadet in 1993.
