It focuses primarily on hard asset-based investment opportunities, as well as distressed businesses. Broe's brotherhood of companies include a short-line railroad owner (OmniTRAX) and a Kentucky coal company (Century Coal). Broe owns interests in some 29 million sq. ft. of commercial, industrial, and residential real estate in several states and in Canada. Denver property investor Pat Broe controls the company, which he founded in 1972.
