The long and short of it is this: The Aveon Group is looking to deal in hedge funds. Operating through its subsidiaries, Aveon Group is an investment management firm seeking to acquire nine managing members of a total of twelve separate hedge funds. The members -- including Viridian Partners, Cura Capital, Banyan Capital Partners, WA Partners, Chesapeake SP Partners, and Glenrock Asset Management -- have some $3 billion under management. Together, the managing members would bring a range of investment strategies to Aveon, including investments in long/short equities, sovereign debt, and commodities (e.g. agricultural, energy, and metals). Founded in 2009, Aveon Group put off plans to go public in 2011.
