Whether the alcohol goes in your tank or your car's, Thai Beverage is happy to pour. The company, known as ThaiBev, makes beer and distilled spirits as well as ethanol through more than 60 affiliated companies. It makes the Chang line of beer, bottled water, and soda; a distilled line of wine coolers, fermented herb drinks, whiskey, rice wine, sake, and SangSom rum; Bionic fertilizer; and other items like animal feed, bricks, and oak barrels. ThaiBev's Thai Alcohol company is the country's largest producer of ethanol, which refiners like Shell and Exxon Mobil turn into alternative fuels. Thai Bev was created in 2003, though it traces its roots to 1786, when the Bangyikhan Liquor Distillery began operation.
