The fluids unit makes clear brine fluids as well as dry calcium chloride that aid in drilling activities by the oil and gas industry. Its offshore segment decommissions platforms and pipelines and explores for oil and gas. In addition to production testing services for oil and gas operations, the product enhancement division also recycles oily residuals, a byproduct of refining and exploration. TETRA Technologies owns producing properties and in 2010 it reported proved reserves of 7.3 million barrels of oil and 25.6 billion cu. ft. of natural gas.
