In the grand scheme of things, Teton Energy (formerly Teton Petroleum) is looking for energy assets in the Rocky Mountains. The oil and gas exploration and production company has leasehold interests in the Eastern Denver-Julesburg Basin in Nebraska, the Piceance Basin in Western Colorado, the Williston Basin in North Dakota, and the Big Horn Basin in Wyoming. Teton Petroleum changed its name to Teton Energy in 2005 after it shifted its focus from oil exploration in Russia to natural gas exploration in the Rocky Mountain region.
