The balmy Trade Winds blow over Tesoro Hawaii, a subsidiary of Tesoro Petroleum, and operator of the 94,000-barrel-per-day Kapolei refinery on the coast of Oahu. The largest of Hawaii's two refineries, Kapolei has distillate hydrocracker, vacuum distillation, and catalytic reformer capabilities, and supplies jet and marine fuels to the trans-Pacific transportation industry that uses Hawaii as a major refueling location. It also serves the local Hawaiian market with gasoline and diesel fuels. Other products include fuel oil, liquefied petroleum gas, and liquid asphalt.
