Named for the legendary Shawnee chief, Tecumseh Products makes a line of hermetically sealed compressors and heat pumps for residential and commercial refrigerators and freezers, water coolers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and vending machines. It introduced a line of commercial refrigeration scroll models for mid-temperature products. It markets its products under brand names that include Celseon, L'Unité Hermétique, Masterflux, Silensys, and Vector. The company gets more than 80% of its sales outside the US in more than 100 countries. The Herrick family, which ran Tecumseh Products for more than three generations, controls almost 66% of the company's voting shares.
