Company Description
TechniScan (formerly TechniScan Medical Systems) is developing a gentler means of mammography. Its Svara ultrasound imaging system uses a water bath and ultrasound reflective tomography technology to produce scans of the entire breast in about 10 minutes. TechniScan's images are intended to be used when further testing is needed following a conventional mammogram screening. The development stage company was founded in 1984. TechniScan shortened its name when it completed a reverse merger with shell company Castillo Inc. to become a public entity in 2009.
