Company Description
Consumers looking for a sugar rush from Tate & Lyle -- until recently one of the world's largest makers of white and raw cane sugar -- will have to go elsewhere. Tate & Lyle went sugar free in 2010 to focus on two core businesses: Specialty Food Ingredients and Bulk Ingredients, which it supplies to the food, beverage, animal-feed, and other industries from more than 30 production facilities worldwide. The company's Specialty Food Ingredients include sucralose, the no-calorie sweetened sold under the brand name SPLENDA, as well as corn-based speciality starches and sweeteners. Bulk Ingredients include corn-based bulk sweeteners, industrial starches and fermentation products (primarily acidulants).
