The company is a leading lessor of intermodal freight containers -- steel boxes that come in standard sizes and can be used to move goods over the road, over the rails, or over the water. Marine shipping lines are among the company's top customers. TAL International maintains a fleet of more than 680,000 containers, or about 1 million 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of capacity. Besides its leasing operations, TAL International sells used containers.
