Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. (SSTL) takes a budget-light approach to making satellites. The company designs and builds small communications and research satellites. SSTL integrates mission design, satellite platform, payload development, and spacecraft operation, with data analysis expertise, to propel a project from drawing board to launch pad and, even, in-orbit service. Its Disaster Monitoring Constellation, managed by subsidiary DMC International Imaging, is a series of satellites launched in 2004 through 2010 to monitor natural and man-made disasters, as well as support the logistics of various scientific and commercial applications.
