Company Description
Coca-Cola, fast cars, and SunTrust Banks -- this Sun Belt company is southern to its core. Its flagship SunTrust Bank subsidiary operates nearly 1,700 branches in about a dozen southeastern states, including the Carolinas, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The bank offers standard retail and commercial services, as well as mortgage, wealth and investment management, insurance, investment banking, equipment leasing, and brokerage services. The company participated in the underwriting of the IPO of fellow Atlanta icon Coca-Cola and was one of its largest shareholders for many years; SunTrust is also the official bank of Grand American Road Racing.
