Suburban Hospital, a member of the Johns Hopkins Medicine network, is an acute-care, medical-surgical hospital with about 240 beds that provides all major medical services, except obstetrics, to the residents of Montgomery County in Maryland. Specialized services include behavioral health, cardiology, cancer care, home care, and pediatrics. Founded in 1943, Suburban Hospital serves as the regional trauma center for the county and is equipped with a helipad. Other services include a center for sleep disorders, 24-hour stroke team, diagnostic pathology and radiology departments, and a range of inpatient and outpatient programs.
