Sub-Zero has cornered the market on hot and cold. The company's purchase of Wolf Gourmet married Sub-Zero's built-in, customized refrigerators, freezers, and wine storage systems with Wolf's ovens, cooktops, and ranges. The deal has enabled Sub-Zero to compete head-to-head with rival Viking Range. The company hides bulky refrigerators and freezers behind cabinetry with complementary hardware. The manufacturer's units are available in several configurations, including over-and-under, side-by-side, and undercounter. Sub-Zero's US-made products are sold nationwide and internationally through a network of distributors. Founded by Westye Bakke in 1945, the company is still owned by the Bakke family.
