Stratos Global goes to the ends of the earth to serve its customers. The company provides satellite voice and data service to government and business customers that operate in remote areas of the world. Its mobile satellite division provides wireless phone and data transmission using Inmarsat and Iridium networks, among others. Stratos also offers phone, fax, and high-speed Internet services using very small aperture terminals (VSATs), as well as fixed wireless service through a digital microwave system that serves offshore oil and gas operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Its largest customer segment is in the US, which accounts for a third of sales. Stratos is a subsidiary of UK-based Inmarsat.
