States Industries manufactures hardwood and softwood veneer products for wholesale and retail distribution throughout the US and Canada. The company, which was founded in 1966, produces natural wood veneered panels for residential wall paneling applications and industrial panels for manufacturers of cabinets, furniture, store fixtures, and architectural interiors. States Industries sells its products through retail stores, wholesale distributors, and directly to large wood product manufacturers. Mounting debt and declining sales forced States Industries to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2010. Shortly after, it was acquired by leading creditor Renwood Opportunities Fund for nearly $20 million.
