Company Description

StarParks is hoping to shine in the German theme park industry. The company, formerly the European division of Six Flags, owned seven amusement parks in Belgium (Walibi Belgium, Bellewaerde Park), the Netherlands (Walibi World), France (Walibi Lorraine, Walibi Rhône-Alpes, Walibi Aquitaine), and Germany (Movie Park Germany). Six Flags sold the business to UK-based private investment firm Palamon Capital Partners in 2004 for about $200 million. StarParks rebranded most of the parks with the Walibi name to give them a more European feel. In 2006 the company sold six of the seven parks, retaining Movie Park Germany near Düsseldorf.
