Some 30 airlines, such as low-fare carriers Ryanair , easyJet , and Air Berlin , touch down on Stansted 's runway and take off for more than 160 destinations, including Dublin, Rome, and Frankfurt. Stansted plans to open a second runway and terminal by 2017. In 2009 the airport added AirAsia X to its stable of airlines, which non-stop flights from London to Kuala Lumpur.
