Company Description

Stanley wasn't afraid of big government. The company provided IT services -- including consulting, systems integration, logistics, outsourcing, and engineering -- primarily to military and civilian agencies of the US government. Its clients included the Library of Congress, the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, the Department of State, the Department of Transportation, NASA, and the Smithsonian Institution. Stanley was started as a consulting firm in 1966 by Admiral Emory Stanley. The company was acquired in 2010 by CGI Group for about $900 million in cash, but including the assumption of Stanley's debt, the transaction was valued at closer to $1 billion.
