The UK-based banking group, familiarly known as Stanchart, primarily operates in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, its target markets with some of the world's fastest-growing economies. It also operates in Europe and the Americas. In all, Stanchart has more than 1,700 offices in more than 70 countries. The company operates through two business segments, consumer banking (deposit accounts, loans, cards, and investment products) and wholesale banking (capital markets, cash management, international trade, custody and clearing services). Stanchart traces its roots back more than 150 years.
