The largest health system in the region, SJ/C is anchored by two main hospitals, St. Joseph's Hospital (305 beds) and Candler Hospital (320 beds). The facilities provide a spectrum of care with specialties that include cardiac and cancer care, orthopedics, and robotic surgery. The two hospitals, which merged to become SJ/C in 1997, also administer home healthcare, as well as a variety of community outreach and education efforts through their mobile units. SJ/C operates a network of primary care clinics and outpatient rehabilitation centers scattered throughout the area.
