A subsidiary of Ascension Health, St. John is a regional health care system founded in 1844 that consists of seven hospitals, with more than 2,300 beds, and about 125 other medical facilities, including urgent care clinics, outpatient centers, nursing homes and assisted-living facilities, and doctors' offices. The health system also runs St. John Home Services, a home health care agency providing infusion services, rehabilitative services, and hospice care. Flagship hospital St. John Hospital and Medical Center is a regional referral hospital with more than 800 beds, providing care in numerous medical and surgical specialties.
