Company Description
Sportech wants you to be a sport….or at least bet on sport. The company gives folks in the UK a chance to bet on any number of events, from sports (football, racing, golf, rugby, tennis, snooker) to entertainment (with betting linked to such TV programming as Pop Idol and quiz shows) to lotto and casino games. Consumers can place their bets through a variety of platforms, including phone, Internet, mail, interactive TV, and via door-to-door "collectors". Sportech also operates what it calls the world's oldest football gaming business, Football Pools, which has been in the business since 1923. In addition to its headquarters in the UK, the company has operations in Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, and the US.
