Its main subsidiary, South Jersey Gas , provides natural gas to more than 340,130 customers in southern New Jersey, including Atlantic City. The utility has more than 5,800 miles of transmission and distribution mains; it also sells and transports wholesale gas. SJI's deregulated retail supplier, South Jersey Energy (SJE), provides gas, electricity, and energy management services. Its South Jersey Resources unit is a wholesale gas marketer and services provider in the eastern and southern US.
