SonoSite, Inc. · Bothell, WA United States ·(NASDAQ (GM): SONO)
Company Description
Size is everything for SonoSite. The firm makes handheld ultrasonic imaging devices that health care providers can use outside traditional imaging laboratories, for instance, in the ER, at a patient's bedside, or in the doctor's office. Its fourth-generation system, the M-Turbo, has a laptop-sized console and produces imaging quality comparable to larger cart-based systems. Its S Series of products has several customized interfaces for different clinical applications, including the ER or the ICU. SonoSite also sells some older products (its MicroMaxx laptop-style system) and smaller ones; its iLook weighs only three pounds and is designed to provide better visualization during vascular access procedures.
