Its core portfolio consists of some 50 products, including an anti-cancer drug, a line of potassium antibiotics, an anti-diarrhea medicine, an anti-inflammatory pain reliever, and an anti-stroke medication. Products are sold by prescription and over the counter. Additionally, Simcere has a number of products under development. Launched in 1995, the company sells its pharmaceuticals to regional distributors who sell them to local distributors, hospitals, and retail pharmacies throughout China.
