This link will open in a new window Silicon Logic Engineering (SLE) provides services for designing application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), including the creation of ready-made semiconductor intellectual property (SIP) "blocks" that can be incorporated into chip designs. SLE works with leading ASIC suppliers, such as IBM Microelectronics and Texas Instruments , which fabricate the chips. It was founded in 1996 by engineers from Cray Research, a pioneering maker of supercomputers. In mid-2006 Tundra Semiconductor acquired SLE for $14 million in cash and stock and made it a division.
