The Swiss-based unit of German conglomerate Siemens is Europe's leading supplier of building automation and safety and security systems. It provides products and services for climate control, building and energy management, fire safety, security, lighting, and facility management. The group was formed in 1998 when Siemens acquired the industrial arm of Swiss company Electrowatt, including Landis & Staefa (building automation and heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning) and Cerberus (fire detection and security systems).
