Sherrill Furniture manufactures mid-range to high-end home furnishings from its facilities in North Carolina. The company's living room collections (sofas, chaises, loveseats, chairs, ottomans, and benches) are sold through department stores and specialty furniture shops throughout the US and Canada. The company's divisions include Whittemore-Sherrill, CTH-Sherrill Occasional, MotionCraft, Precedent, and Hickory White. It is also the exclusive distributor of the Theodore Alexander line in North America. The firm is in the minority by choosing not to outsource its manufacturing. Sherrill, run by chairman and CEO Harold "Buddy" Sherrill, got its start in 1944.
