More than half its portfolio consists of US and international stocks, with the rest invested in bonds, real estate, private equity, and short-term securities. The School Employees Retirement System of Ohio was established in 1937 and now manages more than $7 billion in plan assets. It pays out approximately $900 billion in benefits annually.
