Company Description

Savage Arms sticks to its guns. The company, founded in 1894 by Arthur Savage, took on the big three of the day (Winchester, Remington, and Colt) with its now iconic Model 99 rifle, which retains its original design to this day. Savage Arms still makes sporting rifles, as well as shotguns and a hunting handgun known as "Striker." Savage Arms also sells hunting knives. The firm's environmentally safe firing range systems (known as SNAIL) have been adopted by police, military, and private shooting clubs worldwide. The firm sells its guns through gun shops, and sporting goods stores, such as Dick's Sporting Goods and Gander Mountain. Savage Arms is owned and run by CEO Ron Coburn.
