SandpiperCI (formerly C.I. Traders) was formed by the 2002 merger of two of the Channel Islands' largest companies: Le Riche Group and Ann Street Group. The company is active on the islands of Jersey and Guernsey in the retail and wholesale, hospitality, manufacturing, and property management and development businesses. The company's the leading food retailer on the islands with about 40 grocery and convenience stores under such banners as Checkers, Checkers Xpress, Island Shopper, and Safeway, as well as some 65 bars, pubs, and restaurants there.
