San Diego County Water AuthoritySan Diego, CA United States
Company Description
When you are a big urban area located between the salty sea and a blazing hot desert, and with scant local water resources, making sure that all your 3.1 million citizens have access to safe, reliable drinking water is no easy task. But that is the job of the San Diego County Water Authority (SDCWA), which is in charge of supplying about 95% of San Diego County's potable water supply (80% of which comes directly and indirectly from the Colorado River). The authority provides water to its 24 member agencies (primarily cities and municipal districts), which in turn distribute the water to residents and businesses in the county. SDCWA also has hydroelectric power generation operations.
