SRC Computers develops and sells supercomputing hardware and software. The company's MAP processing units, which can be configured in custom arrangements, are based on SRC's proprietary Direct Execution Logic processor. SRC packages MAP processors into clustered or switch-based configurations; the company also provides switches and memory boards. SRC systems are used in bio-informatics, biometrics, energy research, geospatial mapping, image processing, intelligence gathering and analysis, military applications, and scientific research. Seymour Cray founded SRC (which takes its name from his initials) in 1996.
