It owns about 40 properties, both franchised and independent hotels; brand names include Best Western , Hilton , and Travelodge . The company also manages properties owned by third parties and owns the master franchise rights for Travelodge and Thriftlodge in Canada. Royal Host managed about 80 US hotel properties but sold that business in early 2007.
