Royal Cup Coffee is enjoying a hot cup o' robust business. Founded in 1896, the coffee and tea importer roasts and distributes its products to consumers and commercial customers, including the foodservice industry. Typical customers include offices, convenience stores, resorts, and restaurants such as Chick-fil-A, Red Lobster, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, and Waffle House. Royal Cup imports coffee and tea from around the world and distributes throughout much of North America, as well as into the Caribbean islands. It is owned and managed by the family of chairman Bill Smith, which bought the company from the founding Batterton family in 1951.
