Company Description
Rockwell Diamonds used to prefer copper, but perhaps understandably has turned toward diamonds. The company now has operations that yield high-value gemstone diamonds. It owns the Saxendrift, Holpan, and Klipdam properties in the Kimberley region of South Africa's Northern Cape Province. It also owns the Wouterspan property (adjacent to its Saxendrift assets), where it plans to build a new processing plant in 2012. Rockwell acquired majority stakes in the Tirisano mine in the Venterdorp region of South Africa and the Niewejaarskraal project in the Northern Cape Province. It has agreed to acquire a majority stake in the Jasper mine, adjacent to its Saxendrift assets, from Africa Vanguard Resources.
