The real estate investment trust (REIT) buys and manages timberlands and grows and sells timber for the manufacturing of paper, pulp, lumber, and other wood products. The company owns, leases, or manages more than 2.5 million acres of timberland and real estate (mainly in the US and New Zealand). It produces lumber, wood chips, and wood panels, in addition to its Performance Fibers unit, which makes some 25 different grades of cellulose products and absorbent fibers used in textiles, air filters, tires, detergents, and disposable diapers.
